PMA UK - The Coolest Trade Fair Yet! InnoTrans 2014

Cable Protection - Cable Management - Cable Conduit - Conduit Systems

PMA Exhibition Stand

InnoTrans 2014 was by far the coolest trade fair that we have ever participated in.

For the first time since its takeover by ABB, PMA this year had a stand in ABB branding - plus the coolest exhibit at the trade fair. A block of ice weighing approximately 250Kg!

An ice block in the trade fair hall
But can that work? An ice block in a trade fair hall? To get straight to the point: It not only worked, it was THE attraction, possibly of the entire InnoTrans! And nobody got wet feet…

In addition to the exhibits frozen in the ice block for low-temperature applications, the fire stop solutions were the no. 1 topic at our stand. Most visitors were interested in the details about the simple, but efficient solution for fire prevention. Our solution offers customers countless different options for the protection of people and material as it is equipped with a foaming material in a shell which is compatible with all connection elements from PMA.

The ice block was the main attraction at the stand!
On the four days of the exhibition, our stand was visited by people from all over the world. With 369 contacts, an increase of almost 50 per cent, it was the most successful InnoTrans of all time for us – and it even felt like there were more visitors.

Like a marathon
On the last day of the event, we felt it at first hand: our feet hurt, our backs ached every now and then and it was like we had run a marathon. A cool ice bath would have been welcome for our feet here! But fortunately lots of visitors also came on the last day, which meant that time flew by.

It was cool that numerous visitors came to us from the ABB stand or went from our stand to the ABB stand. Everyone has now noticed that PMA is part of the ABB family! The many applications outside were also impressive. Almost all cable protection applications of the exhibits were equipped with PMA products – irrespective of whether the trains and locomotives came from Germany or other countries in the world. It was enjoyable to walk along the almost five kilometers of track on which the latest trains, locomotives and work machines were exhibited outdoors.

The many positive responses from the customers give us cause to look forward to the next InnoTrans 2016 in Berlin – the coolest (and largest) railway trade fair in the world!
