Cooling specialist, Airedale International, is pleased to welcome on board a further building services expert as Area Sales Engineer for the West Midlands.

Andy Parkes, who hails from Stourbridge, joins the British manufacturer with an extensive background in cooling and air systems and controls, gained with some of the major names in the HVAC industry. Cutting his teeth in production, he completed his apprenticeship in the drawing office before moving into application sales where he account-managed a large number of blue-chip accounts which included names such as Tesco, Marks & Spencer, Debenhams and John Lewis. In 2003 he moved into field sales, building strong relationships with customers seeking comfort and industrial solutions.

Andy, who has two children aged 9 and 16, is passionate about golf and football. He co-manages an U18s football development team in which his son plays and is currently part-way through studying for his Football Association (FA) coaching badges. He is also a staunch supporter of West Bromwich Albion.

When asked what attracted him to Airedale, Andy said: “Airedale is a major name in the industry. As a British manufacturer, this is a big plus for customers as it provides them with a great deal of peace of mind, from being able to visit the factory as part of the decision-making process and being on hand to ensure installations run smoothly. It seemed a perfect opportunity to join the market leader at a time when the shoots of economic recovery are in place. I’m looking forward to building on the success of my predecessor and making a contribution to overall business growth.”

Andy, whose background in solutions selling of cooling systems, air handling units and controls represents a good fit with Airedale’s product and service portfolio, reports into Northern Area Sales Manager, Jonathan Jones, and replaces Terry Whitehouse who retires at the end of May.
