PMA Infrarail Stand

As the UK’s definitive rail infrastructure event, Infrarail certainly made its tenth biennial event its best yet. The show attracted a variety of professionals from across the industry, from CEOs and managers to engineers and contractors, and with attendance up 13% on the previous show, the floor was a hive of activity.

The ABB stand was a busy one, where we profiled Adaptaflex, Emergi-Lite, Furse, PMA, Ty-Rap, Ty-Met, Color Keyed, & Shrink-Kon as ABB brands and ABB as a market leader in the supply of low voltage products & solutions for rail infrastructure.

Together, a complete range of rail safety and protection products were showcased, including high performance electrical cable ties, conduits and fittings, through to electronic track side protection and emergency lighting solutions.

Footfall wasn’t just high for the show, with the ABB stand alone seeing an increased registration capture rate of 75% from 2012. And of those who came along to say hello, some 63% possessed purchasing authority, proving Infrarail to be a key event for companies looking to develop leads and learn about product advancement within the sector.

We were also delighted to have a very special visitor on day one, with Liberal Democrat peer and Minister of State for Transport, Baroness Kramer, taking in all that Infrarail had to offer.

She commented:
“It’s a real honour to be invited to open Infrarail 2014, so I’m delighted to be here with you today. I’ve just had a tour of the halls, and the scale and diversity of the event is truly impressive. From the largest infrastructure companies to the most specialised technology providers, this is a showcase for the UK rail industry. And on this evidence it’s a confident, forward-looking, thriving industry.”

T&B’s Rail Specialist Mark Fletcher added:
"Infrarail has provided another successful show in the Railway calendar. The ideal venue to showcase the latest innovations for the Rail Infrastructure market. This was the first exhibition that Thomas & Betts part of ABB have combined at to demonstrate the vast offerings of the company to the railway industry.” Indeed, we were delighted to catch up with so many of our existing customers at this year’s show, as well as making the acquaintance of plenty of new faces. The ABB team rely upon events such as this to establish relationships via face to face networking, as well as interacting with other businesses in the arena and working together on the progression of our industry as a whole.
