PMA UK - Pflitsch Blue Globe Strain Relief: State-of-the-Art Cable Gland Series already Specified in First Rail Projects

PMA Cable Gland

Pflitsch Blue Globe Strain Relief - a brand new and state-of-the-art cable gland series - has already been specified in its first rail projects. Pflitsch are promoting the major advantages of the Blue Globe system over the UNI Dicht System such as:

  • A removable ring on the inside of the blue clamping element allows a wider range of cable diameters to be accommodated
  • Higher cable retention force without damage to the cable insulation
  • Better identification of the cable gland through type markings engraved on the outside of the compression thread
  • Higher sealing efficiency including IP69K

Most of these advantages are sadly lost when the cable gland is integrated into a PMA strain relief fitting. For example, the removable ring can no longer be removed, the PMAFIX Pro NKNZ fittings achieve IP69K already using the UNI Dicht system and the engraved markings on the compression screw are no longer visible.

Consequently to demonstrate our ability to integrate the new system into a PMA fitting we have designed and manufactured tooling allowing us to produce a single Blue Globe fitting model NKNZ–M207/PBG1 which we can now supply our customers with samples of.
